“Can I have it?”

 

Gilili turned around, coming face to face with Gyaraco. Or, so she had expected. Instead, she was face to face with a gigantic teddy bear, almost bigger than her, dressed in a pink safety vest.

“Why?”

“Look at its feet!”

She looked down. The giant bear was riding a tiny, tiny, green road roller. Well that explained things.

“Do you just want it because of what it’s riding?”

“Yes!”

“Wouldn’t it be better to just buy a toy road roller, then?”

“But it looks funny! It’s so big and the road roller’s sooo small!”

She couldn’t deny that. “I’ll think about it.”

Gyaraco’s whooping made it clear that she viewed it as at least a partial victory.
